Dan E. Gershon

Mr. Gershon is a Partner with the firm. His practice focuses on civil and administrative litigation primarily in the areas of construction, commercial and contract issues, government procurement, government licensure, real estate, and eminent domain. He also provides counsel to government agencies and boards regarding contracts, procurement, statutory and regulatory compliance, and serves as a hearing officer for licensure and rule-making proceedings. Mr. Gershon is also a licensed legal instructor with the New Mexico Department of Public Safety and the Law Enforcement Academy.

Prior to joining the firm in December 2019, Mr. Gershon was a shareholder at Sheehan & Sheehan from 2012 to 2019 practicing in civil and commercial litigation primarily in the areas of construction, government procurement, and eminent domain.  Mr. Gershon also worked for the NM Department of Transportation from 2000 to 2012 ending his career there as Acting General Counsel providing incoming and outgoing administrations with legal guidance. Acting as lead counsel for a variety of administrative, litigation and appellate cases involving bidding disputes, construction claims, construction delay and utility claims, right-of-way issues, and inverse condemnation matters.  Prior to 2000, Mr. Gershon practiced in civil defense at Montgomery & Andrews, P.A., and Baca, Coryell, Gershon & Hall, P.A., involving civil rights defense of cases brought against police officers, personal injury claims, workers’ compensation, and employment matters and matters of antitrust, breach of contract, and oil and gas litigation.

Mr. Gershon attended and graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder (B.A. 1981) and the University of Denver College of Law (J.D. 1986). He is admitted to all state and federal courts in New Mexico and is also admitted in Colorado (inactive status).
